Florida Governor Rick Scott has signed his second death warrant today, for Oba Chandler. Chandler was convicted for the 1989 murders of an Ohio mother and her two daughters in Tampa Bay. Apparently the case is notable enough to have its own Wikipedia page, with lots of details about Chandler, his troubled childhood and life of crime, the murders of the three women and the ensuing trial. (Reminder: As we all know, Wikipedia is not always a credible source and I’m not advocating using it as one. Be careful about checking the citations and sources there.) Chandler, who turns 65 tomorrow, is scheduled to be executed at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15. Barring any appeals or stays, he will have spent 17 years on death row.
