Tensions have been running high tonight, as the incredibly high profile execution of Troy Davis is moving forward. Davis, who has evidence of innocence and has been the subject of a massive worldwide campaign to save him, was set to die at 7pm tonight in Georgia. At 7:05 news broke that he had not received a stay, but was granted a reprieve while the Supreme Court reviewed his case. However, now at 11:00pm, the Court denied a stay and Georgia is proceeding with the execution.
Update: Troy Anthony Davis was pronounced dead at 11:08pm EST.
I’m not eloquent enough to write anything that hasn’t already been said better by someone else about this case, and I don’t feel like trying. Instead, here’s some of the articles I’m currently reading about Troy.
